Same hand gel, same transparency, but the paper is Saunders Waterford watercolour paper
As you can see it works, it is quite a faded result but that is always going to be the case I think.
This disaster is a lesson in how to avoid paper that is made in layers; any paper that has a coating, is soft, or has layers will just stick to the gel and transfer and rip away. This is inkjet coated watercolour paper, so of course the coating layer just came right off, I thought it would but I had to try it out just to see.
